On Letna Hill above the Vltava River, across from the city centre of Prague, is an unusual structure (top right). It is 23m high and is actually a functioning metronome that was built in 1991. It replaced an enormous monument to Joseph Stalin, the former Soviet leader, that was demolished in 1962.
